Job Description

Job Purpose:
As a Condition Monitoring Engineer, reporting to senior reliability engineer, you will establish the systems and procedures necessary for the management of condition monitoring and performance of turbo machineries from operations, maintenance & integrity perspective as well as to ensure implementation of various tasks and activities. Strive towards reducing mean time between maintenance and general life cycle costs.

Condition monitoring skills:

• Working knowledge of gas turbine, Centrifugal compressor, cooler fans, pumps, etc.
• In-depth knowledge with turbo machineries principles and systems including capacity to perform troubleshooting.
• In-depth skills on turbo-machineries internals and design parameters.
• In-depth knowledge with types of maintenance programs for various machineries.
• Knowledge with reliability, availability and maintainability requirements.
• Computer literate and skills with Condition Monitoring packages.
• Working experience with data analyzers e.g. Bentley Nevada equipment System1, ADRE, SKF, CSI (or similar tools)
• Vibration analysis certification Level III minimum
• In-depth understanding of Lube Oil Analysis Parameters and their interpretation
• Advance skills of MCSA
• Motivated, dependable and reliable individual.
• Highly developed English and Arabic language skills - both written and spoken.

Plant Operation & Support Services
• Fundamental knowledge of LPG plant operation, Jetty & land tanker loading operation for handling of liquid and Gas like Propane, Butane, Condensate
• Detailed knowledge & experience of Panel operation and field activities of Utilities, Storage & Loading section.
• Working knowledge of electrical /Instrument /Chemical Engineering concepts relevant to their job requirement.

Installation, Commissioning & Start-up :
• Knowledge and experience of installation , Pre-Commissioning , Testing & Commissioning, Initial startup & activities and requirements for Rotating machines like Compressors, Pumps, Turbines, Fan and Blowers operation and maintenance
• Familiarization of project detailed engineering, procurement, construction, pre commissioning, commissioning and completion & handover activities

First Time Right Program:
• Familiar with “Right First Time” concept and activities of key areas i.e. Cleanliness & Preservation,
• Tightness, Operability& Maintainability, Integrity,
• Awareness of flaw recurrence during design, construction, pre-commissioning, Commissioning & initial start- up and operation and ability to mitigate the flaws
• Manage and mitigate risk due to reliability, maintenance & integrity in project and operate phase

Computer & Software tools Competency:

• Working knowledge of relevant software tools & packages, including Microsoft Office suite, Primavera, SAP PM. & MM modules, Assets & Plant Performance management solution, Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

Key responsibilities are NOT limited to following :
• Establish and manage Condition monitoring business requirements.
• Set condition monitoring inspection plans for all turbo machineries and various system ancillaries.
• Responsible for the required condition monitoring tasks in accordance to company standards and specifications.
• Conduct coaching activities effectively along with the subordinates in order to enhance their performance.
• Support routine PM plans in terms of providing pre/post technical support.
• Responsible for performing boroscopic inspection to evaluate condition of machineries internals and critical part e.g. blades, impellers, bearings.
• Carries out extensive analysis on the vibration & other data collected to diagnose / troubleshoot rotating machinery problems and recommend remedial measures.
• Perform performance evaluation on turbo machineries
• Actively participate in Reliability improvement programs e.g. RCM, RAM studies.
• Lead Root Cause Failure Analysis for turbo machineries and other rotating equipment as per requirements.
• Evaluate and implement new technologies in relation to condition monitoring and performance diagnosis
• Study the specific parameters that can influence equipment condition and devise improvements, e.g. quality of lube oil,
• temperature and pressure level, etc.
• Develop required reports as part of routine plans and/or investigations.
• Perform motor health check by using motor current signature analysis technique.
• Custodian for condition monitoring standards and specifications.
• Perform detail health check for turbomachinery and other rotating equipment based on total Condition Monitoring technique.
• Perform the job as per company established Quality & HSE procedures / guidelines.
• Manage allocated resourcing efficiently
• Custodian for condition monitoring inspection data and database.
• Set development and competency programs for sub-ordinates.
• Develop yearly plan and budget.
• Conduct coaching activities effectively along with the subordinates in order to enhance their performance.
• Adhere to accountability, criticality, safety, security and hygiene procedures
• Abide all statutory requirements pertaining to HSE.
• Adhere to all HSE standards and specification of company.
• Implement all Quality and HSE requirements coming under your area of jurisdiction.
• Adherence to all statutory requirements pertaining to HSE, and the HSE standards and specifications of company.
• Implementation of all quality and HSE requirements under your area of jurisdiction.
• Continuously improve the effectiveness of condition monitoring programs, through defined review process in conjunction with the supervisor.
• Assist the Senior Reliability Engineer in carrying out Equipment Failure, Root Cause Analysis and Reliability Analysis.
• Supervise periodical condition monitoring and verification checks on various mechanical equipment using on-line (e.g. Bently Machinery Monitoring System), Equipment Condition Monitoring System (ECM) and off-line (e.g. vibration data collectors) and other equipment condition monitoring systems and report any abnormalities.
